Turn off your electronics
Staring at computer screen, answering texts, constantly checking social media, and calling your mom 15 times a day? Let's face it, we live in a digital world where we can talk to anyone around the world and get immediate feedback. While this is an amazing fleet, constantly being tuned into the digital world can have some negative side effects you may not be aware of.Phantom Phone Vibration
This is the sensation of feeling your phone vibrating in your pocket even though it is not. Dangerous? No, but it’s a bit alarming to have your mind playing tricks on you like that, isn’t it? These phantom viberations may be “increasing the flow of neurotransmitters" While I highly doubt our cell phones are able to play sinister mind tricks, it's undeniably true that they have become a sort of appendage.
Text Neck
When most people text or use a smartphone, they jut their heads forward and bend their necks. It seems harmless and natural, but it places a huge amount of stress on your vertebrae that compounds over time.
Internet linked Depression
While I myself have fallen victim to this, being constantly linked into social media can make us feel like we are making and keeping in touch with friends and family, however studies have showed that by constantly virtually responding the desire to have face-to-face interactions decrease, leaving people to feel alone and even depressed.

I wish people would abide by this when they're having a face to face interaction with another person. It drives me crazy trying to have a conversation with someone when their face is in their phone every five seconds.
ReplyDeleteI totally believe that we are living in a world that revolves around technology and our phones. I think it is a great idea to put down all the electronics every once and a while and actually have a good face to face conversation with someone.
